Cost Sharing Plans are not insurance plans. Let me say that again, Cost Sharing Plans are not insurance plans. These plans are made up of individuals who group their money into a fund that in turn pays for each other’s medical expenses.
Imagine the following:
- You contribute, monthly, a specific shared amount of money into a fund.
- You continue to pay your medical bills until you meet a certain amount. Only eligible medical bills count toward this annual obligation.
- After, that, all your eligible medical bills would be shared by the fund.
OK, this is a pretty simple explanation. The Cost Sharing Plan that I work with has strict rules on what I can say on my web site. That’s nothing special, so does Medicare and every insurance carrier.
If Cost Sharing Plans are something that you would be interested in, please give me a call. Unlike Medicare Health Plans, a Scope of Appointment (SOA) form is not necessary.
